1. Cooling Medium & Circuit
The primary coolant is a food-grade propylene glycol-water mixture (typically 20–50% glycol concentration), which lowers the freezing point to -15°C to -30°C and prevents pipe freezing in low-temperature operations. It operates via a closed-loop system: the chiller cools the glycol mixture, which is then pumped through jackets or coils of target equipment (e.g., beer fermentation tanks, olive oil storage tanks) to absorb heat, before returning to the chiller for re-cooling.
2. Key Components
◦ Compressor: The core of the refrigeration system, available in reciprocating, scroll, or screw types—scroll compressors are common for small-to-medium chillers (1–20 HP) due to energy efficiency and low noise, while screw compressors suit large industrial models (20+ HP).
◦ Evaporator & Condenser: The evaporator cools the glycol mixture, and the condenser dissipates heat (air-cooled for small systems, water-cooled for high-capacity industrial use).
◦ Temperature Control System: Equipped with a digital thermostat and PLC panel to set and maintain temperatures within ±0.5°C accuracy; supports automatic load adjustment to match cooling demand and reduce energy consumption.
◦ Pump & Reservoir: A dedicated centrifugal pump circulates the glycol mixture, and a insulated reservoir stores the coolant to ensure stable flow and temperature.
3. Material & Safety
All wetted parts (pipes, pump, heat exchanger) are made of food-grade SUS304/SUS316L stainless steel to comply with hygiene standards and resist corrosion from glycol. The system includes safety features like low-level alarms, high-pressure cutoffs, and temperature limit switches to prevent equipment damage.
Widely used in breweries (cooling fermentation tanks and bright beer tanks), dairy plants (chilling milk storage tanks), olive oil facilities (maintaining storage temperatures), and beverage factories (cooling mixing tanks for heat-sensitive products); compatible with batch and continuous production lines.
